"In the suburbs, cardboard machines are the store's computers", says CEO of Grupo Entre

During Payment View, Antonio Freixo defends integrated ecosystems and partnerships to gain relevance in the payments sector

EntrePay, the acquiring company of the Entre Group, was featured in an article published on May 19 by Finsiders Brasil. The text deals with the participation of Antonio Freixo, Mineiro, in the Payment View event, held by IdeaD, with the BV bank, five days earlier. In his speech, the businessman, co-founder and CEO of Grupo Entre, discussed the role of cardboard machines in commerce in the outskirts and more remote regions.

During his lecture, Mineiro highlighted that, despite the evolution of payment technologies, the machine remains essential for small merchants. “Everyone thought that the machine was going to die, but we see that it is increasingly important. For those who work in large cities, this is very trivial. But for those who work in the outskirts and in distant areas, like us, a machine is the computer of the little store,” he said.

The executive highlighted that current technology allows machines to issue invoices, manage orders and control inventory, making them indispensable tools for local businesses. Furthermore, he defended the construction of integrated ecosystems, with different partners, as a strategy to face competition in the financial sector. “The market is cyclical. There are times when acquiring is booming, and then digital banking operations are booming. So, we need to always be connected to the customer in some way, and the best way to do this is with partners,” he explained.

Mineiro also addressed the concept of an open platform banking correspondent, highlighting that companies like EntrePay are able to offer 90% of the services of a bank branch, including paying bills, taking out insurance and consortiums, making withdrawals and offering credit. According to him, the use of data and technology is essential to make credit more efficient and accessible to small traders.
