EntrePay's partnership with BNB reaches 15,000 people in just a few months
Portal Bahia Econômica highlights the project between Banco do Nordeste and Grupo Entre's means of payment company
In a story published on November 24, 2024 , the Bahian online newspaper reports that the partnership established between EntrePay - a company specializing in payment solutions from the Entre Group - and Banco do Nordeste (BNB) to offer card machines to borrowers of the CrediAmigo program has already served 15,000 clients in a short space of time.
This is the largest microcredit program in Brazil, with an active base of 2 million people. In this new stage, the aim is to supply card machines exclusively to CrediAmigo clients, helping to speed up the modernization of the financial sector in the region. The focus is on benefiting entrepreneurial individuals who take out loans of up to R$21,000 at the bank.
It is estimated that, in three years, more than 300,000 people will have access to the machines, without paying rent for the equipment. The various financial solutions offered in the project will be available throughout the Northeast, in the north of Minas Gerais and in Espírito Santo.
Known for its role in fostering economic growth in the Northeast, BNB is now counting on the digitalization of means of payment as a way of strengthening financial inclusion and supporting local entrepreneurship.
"The partnership with BNB brings opportunity to people who are trying to get their businesses off the ground, and has a very relevant social impact. We are enabling access to banking services and modern payment solutions for people who were previously unbanked or even semi-banked," said Antonio Freixo, CEO of Grupo Entre.
The implementation of the program allows for the transformation of the largest microcredit program in Latin America, CrediAmigo, into a microfinance program. "This public had been taking out credit from the bank, investing in their business, but eventually they didn't use a current account, didn't have access to investments, or even used Pix," said Anderson Santana, EntrePay's Operations, Products and Commercial director.
According to the executive, what is being offered is the possibility for customers to have a little machine, rent-free, in which, as well as receiving the credit and investment to run their business, they can sell more, receive Pix and monetize with many other products.
